nearly winter

discussions w/ MomCat, [human] behavior 2014/11/05

Sunday night i decided to observe Dia de los Muertos, or Day of the Dead. there is a rather vibrant Mexican community in San Francisco, and every year they celebrate. altars are erected in Garfield Park, musicians and dancers perform, participants paint their faces and dress up, and a procession winds its way through the Mission District.

this is only the second year i’ve participated, but its something i’ve come to love. it’s a beautiful tradition, and a wonderful way to remember those who have passed..
